Searching for published articles and chapters:

· Go to the library portal: http://nottingham.ac.uk/is and click on eLibrary Gateway. This link will give you access to all online journals, as well as to the location of journals/books held in the various libraries (link to Unloc, the library online catalogue).

· You will need your Novell password to log in

· Note that there is a useful short introduction guide to First Time Users

· Once you have logged into the system, you will be able to select the Psychology databases by choosing Psychology and “Go”.

· You can now enter key words, phrases or simply names of authors (e.g., the authors of the articles that your textbook refers to, key names from the relevant lectures, etc. etc.)

· Tick the search engines that you want to use (below: Medline, PsychInfo, Web of Science) and click “Search”. Refer to your handout for descriptions of the advantages and disadvantages of each of these. Note that for a number of engines you will need an Athens password.
