Career - Research Interests

I obtained a BSc (Hons) in Psychology in 2002, an MSc in Ergonomics in 2003 and a PhD in Psychology in 2009. During my PhD I investigated how visual attention can be affected by top-down and bottom-up factors. In particular I examined how drivers’ visual attention functions as a factor of driving experience and different driving conditions.

Drivers’ eye movements have been recorded in many experiments as an indication of the behavioural aspect of visual attention. Car simulators have been used extensively in order to produce various experimental scenarios.

After my PhD I was awarded a fellowship from EPSRC in order to exchange knowledge with other research groups in the world. During my PhD and fellowship I created active collaborations with research centres from Europe (VTI-Sweden, INRETS-France, HIT-Greece), USA (NADS-IOWA) and Australia (Monash-Melbourne).

Currently I am working as Facility Manager / Scientific Office at Accident Research Unit, University of Nottingham. I am  responsible for the development of the new Nottingham Integrated Transport and Environment Simulator facility (NITES). I cooperate with contractors, suppliers, finance department, estates, etc. Also I promote the facility nationally and internationally. Finally I am  involved with writing of research proposals and scientific articles.
